Safeguarding the global, interoperable Internet: trends in the development of technical standards

By Research Team
We are hosting an Internet Standards Observatory Research Roundtable on 9 May 2024 at 4.00-5.30pm BST. This event will facilitate discussions on current trends in the development of Internet Standards and what these trends mean for safeguarding the global, interoperable nature of the network.
The Research Roundtable will showcase the work of seven research teams funded by the Internet Standards Observatory which is supported by the Internet Society Foundation and RIPE NCC. The presentations will be organised in three segments: (a) the dynamics of standards setting processes; (b) corporate influence in the development of Internet Standards; and (c) the impact of geopolitical and national prerogatives in standards development.
