The Internet Standards Observatory: tracking and preventing fragmentation

By

Join our Senior Internet Policy Specialist, Carolina Caeiro, and Cybersecurity and Internet Policy Analyst, Anna Panacco on an informal conversation about the forthcoming initiative by the DNS Research Federation, the Internet Standards Observatory.

The Internet Standards Observatory is an initiative by the DNS Research Federation to identify and monitor standards proposals that could fragment the Internet. In the video, Carolina and Anna have a conversation about the goals of the Observatory, and what type of standards proposals will be tracked across three crucial standards development organisations: ITU, IETF and ETSI. Carolina and Anna discuss how the standards observatory intends to cater, not only to specialised communities, but also to those less familiar with the standardisation landscape, providing tools and resource to facilitate a diverse participation in standards-setting.
