Getting ready for WSIS+20, with Dominique Lazanski

By

Dominique is a specialist in technical standards development and cyber governance. The pressures are mounting from all sides. Unintended consequences from regulations that aim to enhance privacy or curb harmful usage of the Internet can also threaten the continuing interoperability, resilience and security of the Internet. Looking ahead to WSIS+20 in 2025, Dominique highlights risks for multistakeholder governance, as governments look again at how our shared technology base should be governed. Highlighting the example of encrypted DNS, Dominique points out the paradoxes: while it is important to protect privacy online, there are a lot of challenges when the DNS itself is encrypted - challenges such as spam and DNS attacks.
